December 2008

Just now I checked out Google and found some interesting stuff.
Google seems to have added an option of modifying search results as per your requirements, for example I searched for “Perl Larry” and got few results and if I want I can prioritise, de-prioritise or remove it from the results. Few screen shots: Step 1 on Google Chrome

Google Chrome Step-2

Interestingly feature is not working with IE7 but seems to be working with Google Chrome, Google may have released the feature for Chrom users only for now and later may be extending it to all browsers, I think Google knows that only Tech-Savvy people are using Google Chrome as of now so its ok. There is another thought process that from now onwards Google may stop releasing fancy Java Script features for IE or FF and it makes sense as with Google Chrome’s rendering engine I am sure writing JS stuff must be a lot easier than replicating the same for other browsers.

Google Search on IE

This is a most wanted features for those who love Wiki and/or like other’s opinion on stuff. And it will also help in improving relevancy of documents. Well you can take it as a Google Approach of building a Search-Wiki.

Three cheers to Google Search Team on this release.
